The original hurricane protection panel, this type of corrugated panel is the most economical in hurricane protection. Made of galvanized steel, these panels are heavier than aluminum or clear yet strong and securely protect homes against the devastation of hurricane storms. The strength of these panels, along with aluminum and clear, come from their corrugated design which allows the panels to overlap one another. Despite the increase in weight compared to aluminum or clear, installation and removal process is still relatively easy to do. Panels fit nicely together to store with ease throughout the off season. Rust and corrosion free, galvanized corrugated hurricane panels last a long time.
With the use of powder coated aluminum extrusions such as H-headers, F-tracks, clam shell, and studded sill, almost any type of opening is able to be protected by corrugated hurricane panels. There are also various attachment methods that allow for a variety of deployment techniques to be used with these panels.
Aluminum, galvanized, and clear are shaped the same to allow each type of panel to be used together. For example, a combined choice might include aluminum panels on all 2nd floor windows and 1 clear panel added to each to allow light in with galvanized panels on 1st floor openings to keep the cost low. APS only offers Florida Building Code approved storm panels for all our Florida customers.
